Media personality Andrew Kibe has sparked fresh speculation about a political comeback after hinting on social media that he may seek elective office in the 2027 General Election.
The outspoken content creator recently shared his old 2013 campaign poster online, a move interpreted by many of his followers as a signal that he is considering returning to active politics. The post immediately revived conversations about his earlier attempt at leadership and whether he intends to challenge again in Nairobi.
Although he has not formally declared interest or named a specific seat, the renewed visibility of his past campaign material has been widely viewed as intentional positioning.
Kibe first entered politics during the 2013 General Election, vying for the Lang’ata Constituency parliamentary seat. He ran under the United Democratic Forum (UDF) party, which at the time was part of the larger Amani coalition.
His bid, however, was unsuccessful. The seat was won by ODM’s Joash Olum, in a contest dominated by seasoned political networks and party strength.
After the loss, Kibe spoke openly about the experience. In later interviews and posts, he admitted that the campaign was financially draining and far more complex than he had anticipated.
He described the political environment as filled with insincerity, saying he underestimated the level of resources and structures required to mount a competitive parliamentary campaign.
Despite stepping away from elective politics after the defeat, he continued to build a strong public profile through radio, digital content, and commentary a platform that now gives him a larger audience than he had in 2013.
Whether his latest hint is a genuine signal or simply online engagement remains unclear. Kibe has not released an official statement confirming his intentions. However, the resurfacing of his campaign poster and his commentary on leadership has left many watching closely.
If he does enter the 2027 race, it would mark his first attempt at elective office in 14 years and his second effort to transition from media personality to elected representative.
