‘Media Messiah’ has done it again by bypassing all odds. The University of Nairobi has produced another graduate with first class honors in Journalism and Media Studies and she goes by the name Azeezah Hashim.
Being an online personality already, this formal achievement is a major win on her end, giving her the credibility that she has been longing for in the media industry.
This shows that she is not only street smart but book smart, making everyone question the uncertainty of what more could we get from her.
Many people stereotype journalists to have failed in sciences and mathematics but Azeezah has proven yet again that it can be a passion.
As a student while in high school, she revealed that she wanted to study medicine to please her father but she felt a stronger pull towards story telling that she couldn’t ignore.
She switched from medical studies to journalism but still had self doubts, particularly about her voice.
Azeezah parted ways with her management King Kaka but always gave a good word about being under their wing. She continues being relevant as she hosts the 10/10 show on Citizen TV and also on radio and live events.
Her standout moment was during the 2024 African National Championships (CHAN) co-hosted in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. She showed versatility when hosting sports programmes, proving that she can blend her journalism skills with the passion and energy that football inspires.
This cemented her reputation as an entertainment journalist and also a relatable face in the sports world.
As she graduates, Azeezah proves that with hard work, patience and following your dreams can make you go to lengths beyond what you imagined.
Azeezah inspires the youth, who are her target audience, making them relate to her more.
Many people look up to her as an icon that chose to pursue her passion regardless of all the doubts she had and feeling like she could disappoint her dad.
The journalist encourages the youth to pursue their talents because she proved that it pays to do what you enjoy.
