After careful consideration and in line with the Public Service Commission’s internship policy and guidelines, the Ministry of Health has revoked the internship postings of 348 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) students.
In a statement issued on X, the health Cabinet Secretary, Aden Duale, said the internship opportunity is only available to individuals who have completed their studies.
“According to the policies, internship placement is only available to individuals who have completed their studies, officially graduated, and obtained clearance from their regulatory body.”
According to Duale, the 348 students whose internships were revoked have not officially graduated, rendering them ineligible for placement.
“Unfortunately, the affected BScN students have not yet officially graduated and therefore do not meet the eligibility criteria for internship placement.”
CS Duale maintained that the internship placement process is guided by fairness and integrity, emphasising that only students who have completed their studies and received official clearance are prioritised.
“The Ministry of Health remains committed to providing opportunities for healthcare professionals to gain practical experience and develop their skills through our intenship program,” he concluded.
