Fast-rising comedian Mokaya has finally broken his silence on swirling rumors about his relationship with fellow entertainer Mitchelle alias Mjaka Mfine, setting the record straight during an exclusive interview on Dr. Ofweneke Tonight on TV47.
The witty comedian dismissed ongoing rumors, clarifying that their connection is purely professional.
“Those were just rumours, she is my great workmate.” Mokay clarified.
According to Mokaya, the speculation arose due to their undeniable on-screen chemistry, which many fans mistook for a real-life romance.

“I enjoy working with Mjaka Mfine, I love the chemistry between us. Our chemistry is so good and I like that.” He said.
Beyond addressing the rumors, Mokaya gave fans a deeper glimpse into his personal journey.
He revealed that he is currently a student at Kenyatta University, pursuing education.
“I’m a student at Kenyatta University pursuing education, English literature.” Mokaya stated.
Despite his academic focus on teaching, Mokaya has steadily built a name for himself in the entertainment industry, balancing books with the spotlight.
Mokaya also spoke about his aspirations in comedy expressing a strong desire to collaborate with well-established acts like DJ Shiti and YY Comedian, whom he named as his biggest inspirations.
“I would really love to work with DJ Shitty, he was my role model back then when I was a kid, I used to talk much like him. I used to watch him alot, we do talk alot.
“There’s also YY Comedian, my role model of all time, he is so good in comedy.” He stated.
He added that he hopes to take his craft to the stage through stand-up comedy, following in their footsteps.
“Growing up I always wanted to be a stand up comedian, my role models, Dj Shitty and YY Comedian have all done stand up comedy, so I also have that desire.” Mokaya expressed.
Family has also played a significant role in shaping his comedic identity.
Mokaya shared that his parents are aware of his passion for comedy and offer him full support.
“My parents have accepted my gift and skill in content creation, I recently did a skit with my mother, when I go back to Kisii, I might do one with my father.” He said.
“My parents were not surprised when I started doing comedy recently because it’s something that I began long time ago.” Mokaya added
Interestingly, he credits his father for his humorous nature, describing him as the original comedian in the family.
“My father carries a comical trait in him, he is really good, he is a pro, I think it’s just that he never found TikTok but he is so good”. Mokaya credited him.
When it came to matters of the heart, Mokaya offered a humorous yet candid take.
He disclosed that his first romantic relationship in Nairobi lasted a mere two weeks.
“I was in campus and it only took like two weeks, the third week things went south.” He said.
However, he confidently stated that he has never experienced heartbreak, as all his past relationships ended on mutual terms.
“I have never been heartbroken, it always end on mutual agreement. ” He stated.
In a light-hearted moment, he joked that in Nairobi, being faithful to one woman for six months is equivalent to 17 years of loyalty in Kisii.
“Being faithful to one woman in Nairobi for six months that’s equated to 17 years in Kisii.” Mokaya said jokingly.
