Moses Kuria asks Murkomen to let justice prevail in Albert Ojwang’s case

President William Ruto’s senior economic advisor, Moses Kuria, has sharply criticized Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen over the ongoing controversy surrounding the death of influencer Albert Ojwang while in police custody.

In a strongly worded statement on X, Kuria warned Murkomen against interfering with the ongoing investigations, suggesting that doing so would not only damage his legacy but also place him on the wrong side of public trust and history.

“I urge you not to close your eyes rest it appear you are part of the grand cover-up. Stand on the right side of history. Hand over the high-level corrupt murderers to stand trial,” Kuria stated on Tuesday June 17, 2025.

At the same time, Kuria expressed support for Murkomen’s recent directive to install CCTV systems in all police stations across the country, as well as the digitization of Occurrence Books (OBs).

In the tweet, he claimed that in Ojwang’s case, existing CCTV footage had already been deleted in an alleged attempt to conceal the truth.

“Dear my brother Kipchumba Murkomen. I highly welcome your order to have CCTV installed in all police stations. Kindly also instruct the same on Digital Occurrence Books. However, on the matter of Alfred Ojwang, CCTV was working but deleted,” he said.

He further alleged that the CCTV system at the Central Police Station, where Ojwang was reportedly held, was functional before it was tampered with to cover up the incident. He maintained that justice must prevail and those involved in Ojwang’s death must face the full force of the law.

This latest statement adds to growing public pressure and calls for accountability over the mysterious death of Ojwang, which has sparked outrage on social media and prompted scrutiny of police conduct and transparency.
