Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has emphasized the importance of national cohesion through political cooperation, noting that past sacrifices by leaders like Raila Odinga have paved the way for unity across party lines.
Speaking in Ndhiwa, Homa Bay County, Odhiambo stressed that alliances between political formations should be guided by national interest, cautioning that current collaborations do not guarantee automatic support for President William Ruto in future elections.
She added that discussions around 2027 and even 2032 must involve inclusive negotiations, potentially including support for Raila or other candidates.
Echoing her sentiments, Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno suggested that Finance Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi could be a viable presidential contender in 2032, marking early signs of succession talk beyond Ruto’s term.
Ngeno called for unity and forward-thinking leadership in shaping the country’s political future.
Finance CS Mbadi welcomed the comments, reaffirming the cooperation between the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
He said the partnership had gained support from grassroots members and was geared toward securing victory in the 2027 elections.
