MP Mwengi Mutuse tells Gen Z to embrace dialogue ahead of planned protests

Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse has called on Gen Z youth to give dialogue a chance ahead of the planned nationwide protests on Wednesday June, 25, 2025.

Speaking at Nyayo Market in Kikumbulyu North, Mutuse said the demonstrations are being used by powerful political figures to create chaos, and urged the youth not to be misled.

“There are leaders funding the protests for their own interests. If they truly believe in them, they should send their own children to the streets,” said Mutuse.

He accused former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of being behind the unrest in Nairobi and asked him to come out and declare his intentions.

Mutuse also urged the Kamba community to stop supporting opposition politics and instead work with the current government for development and future progress.

“We must stop opposing every government. It is time we joined hands and focused on development,” he said.

The Gen Z-led protests are expected to take place in various towns in the country on Wednesday.
