Kajiado North Member of Parliament Onesmus Ngogoyo has sharply criticized the national government and the Kenya Kwanza administration for failing to deliver on key development pledges.
Speaking at a rally in Rongai, Kajiado County, Ngogoyo claimed that numerous projects, not only in Kajiado but across the country, remain either incomplete or unstarted, despite promises of one-year completion.
Among the major projects highlighted by the MP are the Maasai Lodge Road (a 65km stretch connecting Rongai to other towns), a crucial sewage system, and improved water supply in various parts of Kajiado North.
Ngogoyo reminded residents that President William Ruto had personally promised the completion of these projects within a year, yet progress has been minimal.
Recalling a past event, Ngogoyo stated: “The President himself came there when we were opening the roads. The Governor was also present. We raised the issue of the sewage system in Ongata Rongai—that we will have water, but that water will be dirty.”
The MP further claimed that President Ruto had specifically pledged to address the sewerage issue, promising residents of Rongai access to clean water from Ndakaini within just four months.
“The President himself said he would organize the sewerage issue,” Ngogoyo directly quoted Ruto, “and in 4 months and this was in November 2022 we would be drinking water from Ndakaini.” Ngogoyo then directly informed Kajiado North County Commissioner James Rwarie that the promised clean water from Ndakaini has yet to materialize.
