Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has sparked fresh online conversation after sharing his excitement and reflections following the Gabzy and Asake concert held at Nyayo Stadium on December 20, 2025.
In a series of videos posted on his Instagram feed, Salasya praised both artistes for delivering unforgettable performances while also raising concerns about the affordability of major music events in Kenya.
“Gabzy also did so well at Nyayo Stadium. Nikiwa president I will be inviting international and local artists to perform for free. Ticket ya chini hapa ilikuwa 5k na zote ziliisha, many wanted to attend but didn’t have tickets,” he commented.

The legislator appeared particularly impressed by Asake’s stage presence, describing the moment as unforgettable.
“Asake being at Nyayo was something else. Ningekuwa na pesa wewe ya kutosha ningeleta huyu Asake in Mumias KMTC for free, but pesa wewe. But it was real and live,” he said in another clip.
In a separate video, Salasya expressed awe at Asake’s performance of Lonely at the Top. “Aki Asake amekuja ameperform Lonely at the Top na bado mistari sijashika poa. Asake breathing fire on stage while performing lonely at the top, fire,” he remarked.
Maintaining his humorous tone, Salasya also joked about concert seating, advising fans, “Ukitaka kufaulu na kuenjoy enda regular uko VIP hakuna vibe. Bora uchunge usilale mteja, Kenyans are full of vibe.”
The concert drew massive excitement, especially among young fans. Gabzy received praise for his smooth delivery, stage presence, and connection with the audience, while Asake lived up to his reputation with a high-energy performance that reinforced his influence on the global Afrobeats scene.
However, the event also highlighted ongoing concerns about access and cost. With ticket prices starting at KSh5,000 and selling out fast, many fans were left unable to attend despite strong interest, fueling Salasya’s call for free concerts as a way to make live music more inclusive.
