Muthoni Kariuki appointed as Miss International Kenya

Kenya returns to the Miss International Beauty Pageant in 2025 with Muthoni Kariuki as its representative, under the leadership of President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto and the Young People’s Association.

This marks a significant milestone for Kenya, which had previously stepped back from the pageant scene.

At the heart of this comeback is Ms. Muthoni Kariuki, who has been appointed as Miss International Kenya 2025.

Muthoni is not only a beauty queen but also a climate champion and founder of Green Age Warriors, an environmental initiative focused on justice, inclusion, and youth empowerment.

Her appointment reflects a broader vision of integrating leadership into pageantry, aligning with TYPNI’s mission to elevate young voices on international platforms.

Charlene Ruto, known for her active role in youth empowerment and climate advocacy, has been instrumental in positioning Kenya on global forums such as the Earthna Summit 2025 in Qatar, where she represented the country as a patron of Smart Mechanized Agriculture (SMACHS).

”For the first time in 4 years, Kenya will be represented at The 63rd Miss International Beauty pageant in Tokyo, Japan, one of the top beauty pageants globally, alongside Miss World and Miss Universe. It was my distinct honour to crown Fridah Muthoni Kariuki as Miss International Kenya. Kenya is back on the international stage,” said Charlene.

Her leadership in TYPNI signals a new era where beauty pageants are not just about glamour but also about impact, sustainability, and representation.

“We are excited to walk this journey with her till and after she brings the crown home,” Charlene added.

With Muthoni Kariuki’s rich background in tourism, environmentalism, and storytelling, Kenya’s participation in Miss International 2025 is about to be both inspiring and transformative.

Her platform is expected to spotlight climate action, youth leadership, and cultural pride—making her not just a contestant, but a compelling ambassador for Kenya.
