Mutuini Level 5 Hospital has launched a free eye clinic benefiting more than 200 Nairobi residents through a partnership with Warda, Sight Savers and other medical stakeholders, CEO Dr. Martin Wafula has announced.
Dr. Wafula confirmed that the services include cataract surgeries, spectacle fittings, eye screenings and additional treatments, all offered at no cost to the community. Vulnerable residents also received food donations as part of the wider outreach programme.
He added that anticipation is growing among patients and the local community as construction of the new Mama Rachel Ruto Hospital—part of the same health network—nears completion.
“The modern facility is now over 90% complete, promising expanded services and improved healthcare access once fully operational,” Dr. Wafula said.

The CEO further urged residents of Mutuini and Dagoretti South to heed Governor Johnson Sakaja’s call for mass registration to the Social Health Authority (SHA), emphasizing that enrolment will make healthcare more accessible, affordable and of higher quality for all Nairobians.
To support the registration drive, Mutuini Level 5 Hospital has set up a 24-hour SHA registration desk, managed by Dr. Wafula’s team to ensure round-the-clock access for residents wishing to sign up.
