Mwala MP praises Ruto’s plan to upgrade Kyuso–Tseikuru road that leads to Kalonzo’s home

Mwala Member of Parliament (MP)  Vincent Kawaya, has said President William Ruto is delivering development fairly across the country and without discrimination, following the Government’s move to advertise construction of the Kyuso–Tseikuru road.

Speaking on December 23, 2025 in his constituency, Kawaya said the decision to construct the road—despite it leading to the home area of former Vice President and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka—demonstrates President Ruto’s commitment to inclusive development.

According to the Mwala MP, the project is a major political and leadership statement, noting that a vindictive or partisan administration would not invest in infrastructure benefiting a fierce political competitor.

“Many roads have been constructed under this regime, but this one will go a long way in helping a leader who has been in public service for over 40 years,” Kawaya said.

He described the project as a political masterstroke, adding that it reinforces President Ruto’s message that development is a national right, not a political favour.

The Kyuso–Tseikuru road has remained at the centre of political debate between President Ruto and Kalonzo Musyoka. Kalonzo has previously maintained that he first launched the project in March 2011 while serving as Vice President under former President Mwai Kibaki.

However, President Ruto’s administration takes credit for the completed stretch running through Kibwezi–Mutomo–Kitui–Mwingi, now being extended via Kamuwongo–Kyuso–Tseikuru.

Kawaya urged Kenyans to give President Ruto adequate time to deliver on his development agenda, particularly his pledge to transform Kenya from a Third World to a First World economy.

He maintained that infrastructure development, especially roads, remains a key pillar in unlocking rural economies and driving national growth.

The UDA national Organizing secretary urged the people of Ukambani to avoid electing leaders with no development record.
