Popular comedian and content creator Nasra Yusuff has officially stepped down from her position as Vice Chairperson of the Digital Content Creators Association of Kenya (DCCAK), just months after her appointment.
In a heartfelt statement posted to her Instagram page, Nasra announced her resignation, citing a need for alignment, peace, and authenticity in her journey.
“Earlier today, I officially stepped down from my role as Vice Chairperson of the Digital Content Creators Association of Kenya,” the statement read in part.
“This was not an easy decision, but it was one I made after deep personal reflection. Sometimes, alignment and conviction are more important than titles or positions.”
Nasra Yusuff expressed gratitude to her supporters and acknowledged the encouragement she received during her tenure.
“I’m grateful for the support many of you showed me during my appointment”
“That encouragement never went unnoticed, and I carry it with me as I continue to advocate for creatives in other meaningful ways,” she wrote.
The statement was accompanied by a caption echoing similar sentiments:
“I recently shared my excitement about being the Vice Chairperson of the Digital Content Creators Association of Kenya”
“However, after deep reflection, I would like to share that I have decided to step back from the role. Asanteni for the opportunity, and I wish the board all the best moving forward.”
Nasra’s unexpected departure comes at a time when the association is working to solidify its role in advocating for the rights and recognition of Kenya’s growing digital content creation industry.
While she did not go into detail about the reasons behind her decision, Nasra’s message resonated with fans and fellow creatives alike, many of whom flooded her post with messages of support, admiration, and encouragement.
The Digital Content Creators Association of Kenya has yet to issue an official statement regarding her resignation or name a successor.
