The National Police Service (NPS) has announced recruitment for 10,000 police constables in Kenya, scheduled for November 17, 2025, across all sub-counties, following the lifting of court orders that had previously blocked the exercise.
According to NPS, applicants must meet several minimum requirements, including being a citizen of Kenya, aged between18 – 28 years holding a national ID and having at least a D+ in KCSE with a minimum D+ in either English or Kiswahili.
Candidates are also required to be physically and medically fit, with a minimum height of 5ft 8in for males and 5ft 3in for females. Female applicants must not be pregnant during recruitment or training.
The National Youth Service (NYS) graduates who meet minimum entry requirements are encouraged to apply.
NPS maintained that the recruitment process will be free, and anyone found engaging in bribery practices will face legal action. All the contestants are also urged to abstain from giving any false or misleading information during recruitment.
How to apply
Interested and qualified applicants are required to download and fill the prescribed application form from official websites, including the various police unit websites, which include the NPS, DCI, and the Administration Police (AP).
Upon filling the forms, applicants must present themselves at the designated Recruitment Centers by 8am with original and copies of their Kenya National Identity Card ,Birth Certificate, Academic certificates and testimonials. NYS discharge certificate where applicable with a minimum rating of ‘GOOD’
in conduct.
