The State Department for Economic planning under the National Treasury has announced 244 vacancies for the positions of Economist/Statistician, (CSG 8, Job Group N).
In a public notice dated July 22, 2025 the State department invited applicants to fill in the positions of Senior Economist/ Statistician at the State Department for Economic Planning.
“The State Department for Economic Planning invites applicants from qualified persons for the position of Senior Economic/Statistician, CSG, B,” the notice read.
The positions are under permanent and pensionable terms.
To apply , candidates must have served in the grade of Economist/ Statistician I for a minimum period of three (3) years.
The department requires a Bachelors degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or any equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Membership to a relevant professional body required.
A certificate in computer application from a recognized institution is also required.
According to the State department qualified candidates will receive a basic salary of Ksh52,330 to Ksh 96,130, house allowance of Ksh35,000, commuter allowance of Ksh 8000 per month, and annual leave allowance, 6000 per year.
Successful candidates will be responsible for preparing Sectoral briefs, reviews and reports, initiate the preparation of annual, mid term, and end term progress reports, undertaking economic modelling and forecasting among others.
