Nigerian senator and businessman Ned Nwoko has refuted allegations by actress Regina Daniels that he married her when she was only 17 years old.

In a statement shared on his official X account, Nwoko termed the claims “false, misleading, and malicious,” insisting that all verifiable records prove otherwise.

According to Nwoko, during his first meeting with Regina, she stated that she was 21 years old and provided her INEC voter’s card, which showed she was born on October 10, 1998.

He said he kept the card as proof, maintaining that their marriage took place six years ago, meaning Regina is currently 27.

“Any suggestion that I married her at 17 is false and should not be accepted by the public,” he wrote, urging Kenyans to treat the matter with caution, citing her “current mental condition” after abandoning a rehabilitation program for drug addiction.

Nwoko further referenced a BBC interview with Regina’s mother conducted shortly after their marriage, saying it also confirmed her true age. He emphasized that the facts surrounding their union are “verifiable and indisputable.”

His remarks follow a string of emotional posts Regina Daniels shared in November 2025, in which she accused Nwoko of domestic violence, psychological manipulation, and forced medical injections.

She claimed he frequently detained her, seized her phones to cut her off from her family, and publicly humiliated her using her history of drug use. Regina also asserted that their union was never legally formalized in any court.

In response, Nwoko denied all allegations of abuse and claimed that Regina’s struggle with severe drug and alcohol addiction was the real source of their marital conflict.

He said he has never been violent towards any of his wives and even shared evidence of property damage allegedly caused by Regina during a violent episode.

The public fallout between the couple has sparked heated debate online, with fans divided over who to believe.
