Nakuru Murders: 128 suspects arrested, 61 knives, six swords and 3,367 rolls of bhang recovered

Police in Nakuru have arrested 128 suspects linked with the 'Confirm' gang that has allegedly killed five women in the county in the last two weeks.
Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Maalim Mohamed says that police officers have now identified the gang coordinator and the main financier.
"We are now going to intensify the crackdown because we have identified the hotspot areas of the gang in various parts of the city. We have now established the relationship between drug abuse and the criminal gangs.
"The main characters are drug barons in Kivumbini and Bondeni. We have identified the coordinator and financier of the gang and search is underway,” Maalim said.
Police officers have also recovered over 400 mobile phones, 77 assorted weapons and rolls of bhang.
"We have 436 phones, 40 laptops, 61 knives, six swords, 15 machetes, over 100 kgs of bhang and 3,367 rolls of hard drugs including heroine," he added.
The commissioner further says that the gang has been using crude weapons such as machetes and guns. He has now warned that anyone found in possession of such weapons will be considered a criminal.
"Investigations are ongoing and we will ensure they are arraigned in court. Anyone who will be found armed with any of these items will be considered to be armed with an AK 47 rifle. There will be no difference between you and members of this group," Maalim warned the public.
