Police in Eldoret are searching for a suspect who was busted growing Marijuana inside his house.

Kipchumba Michael Kibet went into hiding as soon as the crop was discovered by cops at his rented house in Elgon View Estate, Eldoret Township. 

Acting on intelligence, the National Police Service (NPS) officers conducted a thorough search in two buildings within the compound and recovered 21 cannabis plants in the main bedroom, 68 in the sitting room, 14 in the dining room, and 26 in an adjacent iron sheet walled house. They also found  assorted personal documents.

"All the plants were uprooted after having been documented by DCI Scenes of Crime personnel," says NPS. 

The plants weighed 33.5 kilos, and have a street value of about KSh1 million.

"We appeal for any information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect and urge the public to desist from engaging in criminal activities," adds NPS.
