Video: Drama as man fights police officer inside police station

A video clip that shows a civillian engaging in scuffle and fist fight with a police officer is making rounds on social media.

In the now viral clip, a police officer is seen hitting a civilian who retaliates by returning the favour, fists are thrown and a brawl ensues before they are separated.

The fight broke out at the crime reporting desk at the Nakuru Central Police Station.

Confirming the incident, Nakuru County Police Commander Peter Mwanzo said he had ordered investigations into the matter to ascertain what led to the scuffle.

The civilian was arrested and put in custody as the investigations continue. 

The video was posted on Twitter by user Abdulahi Adan. In it, the police officer is heard telling the civilian that he would not leave the police station.

"Hutoki ... hutoki, I assure you" (You will not leave this place, I assure you, you will not), the officer warns the man.

The civilian responds by saying, "What have I done to warrant a slap. I haven't done anything."

Netizens have reacted to the video with some wondering how brave the man is to slap a police officer inside a police station with otehrs saying the officer was in the wrong for slapping him first.

It is wrong for a police officer who is supposed to be disciplined and instilling discipline to start a fight. Now he has lost his respect and at the same time he has received three slaps that almost sent him hitting the floor. Embarrassing. Huyo police haifai akue kazi.
