Legio Maria pastor, 18, who allegedly defiled and killed 10-year-old girl arrested

A pastor who allegedly defiled and murdered a 10-year-old minor has been arrested. The pastor is a clergy member of Legio Maria Church.

The 18-year-old pastor reportedly sexually assaulted the minor in a maize plantation and later strangled her. He then went missing for two weeks and two days.

Law enforcement officers were tipped off by a Legio Maria church member about Raphael Okinyi's whereabouts. Police found Okinyi in a Legio Maria church in Suna East where they arrested him.

The minor was discovered by a passerby who took her to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital. She succumbed while receiving treatment. 

If found guilty he risks life imprisonment for murder and defiling a minor below 11 years old.
