One dead, multiple injured as 14-seater matatu collides with truck

One person died on Friday evening after a Nairobi-bound 14-seater matatu collided with a truck at Kenol Town in Murang'a County.
Fourteen other people were injured in the freak accident.
Eye witnesses at the scene told TV47 Digital that the matatu which was travelling from Meru rammed into the lorry and tipped over a road escarpment.
The road is currently ongoing works as part of the dualling of the Thika-Nyeri Road.
Residents say the frequent diversion placed by the road contractor are creating confusion among road users.
The body of the deceased was taken to General Kago Funeral Home in Thika, while the injured were rushed to Kenol Hospital for emergency treatment.
