"UhuRuto con game still on!" - Babu Owino wants Uhuru to resign as peace envoy and join Azimio rallies

"It was a long con game" - These are the words Embakasi MP Babu Owino keeps using to mean that former President Uhuru Kenyatta duped Raila Odinga into believing that he was supporting his candidature during the August 2022 Presidential Election.

According to the lawmaker, there is no way William Ruto would have won the election against a Raila that was enjoying the genuine backing of a sitting president.

To support his claims - which Raila differs with, the firebrand MP has come up with a series of conspiracy theories. The latest one, Babu says, is the fact that in his very first appointment, President Ruto picked his predecessor as his peace envoy for the Great Lakes Region and the Horn of Africa.

"Do you know Uhuru was the first person to be employed by Ruto? Would you employ your enemy as a peacekeeper?" Babu posed.

He now wants Uhuru to prove him wrong by resigning from the position.

"If you want to know the genuiness of this number one, Uhuru should resign, number two, let him come to our [Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition] demonstrations and be at the forefront and say 'tibim' and 'tialala'," he said, adding "without that, we are not kids. Babu Owino is not a kid I'm an adult with three children."
