Sigor MP Peter Lochakapong says that Raila Odinga is only after derailing President William Ruto's government from delivering to Kenyans.

Lochakapong says that the planned Raila-led Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition mass protests every Monday and Thursday will be detrimental to the country in terms of destruction of property and paralysing businesses.

The lawmaker - who accuses Raila of operating above the law - now wants the government to arrest him and hold him incommunicado, so that he cannot lead the anti-government demonstrations.

"Hakuna mtu yuko juu ya sheria Kenya hii. Kama ni Raila na watu wake wawekwe ndani, kama wanavunja mali ya watu, wawekwe ndani, sheria ishike kila mtu. Sasa naskia anasema ati kila jumatatu [ni maandamano] sasa lengo ni nini? Huyu anataka kuwa msumbufu, mharibifu. Inatakikana yeye atafutwe afungiwe mahali ndiyo watu waendelee," Lochakapong said.

Weekly protests

Raila on Tuesday, March 21 announced that the opposition coalition will be holding weekly anti-government demonstrations on Mondays and Thursdays starting next week, until President Ruto yields to their demands.

The opposition leader accused the police of causing chaos and violence, by turning peaceful protests across the country into violent confrontations with protesters.

"Many of the demonstrators got hurt and at least two innocent Kenyans were killed in cold blood by the police. We pass our sincere condolences to the families that lost their loved ones to police brutality. We will stand with those families in all ways including pursuing justice for their loved ones," said Raila.
