Kiambu: Police raid illicit brew den at Two Rivers Estate

Police have arrested a woman suspected to be dealing in the illicit brew business following a raid at a house in Juja, Kiambu County.

The suspect, identified only as Salome, was arrested when police officers raided a house at Two Rivers Estate off Muigai Inn on Friday, March 24.

Several items used used in the packaging of the illicit liquor were recovered from the den. 

"The items include 750 litres of Ethanol; 193 full Cartons of Star Light Vodka of 250 ml and branding rolls (40 pieces for Budget brand and 50 pieces for Starlight brand)," the National Police Service says.

Also recovered were; approximately 19,000 bottle caps, 53 bundles of empty Starlight cartons, and 20 cartons of Budget among others.

Salome will be arraigned in court tomorrow (Monday, March 27).
