NOC-K and Nike cement partnership for next Olympic cycle

The newly elected National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) held a crucial consultative meeting with Nike’s representative in Kenya, Robert Lotwis, on Thursday at the NOCK headquarters.

The discussions solidified a continued and valuable partnership with Team Kenya as the nation sets its sights on the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

NOCK’s leadership, including President Shadrack Maluki, 1st Vice President Barnaba Korir, and Secretary General John Ogolla, joined Nike in reaffirming their commitment to Team Kenya.

Both parties expressed a keen interest in exploring fresh opportunities to strengthen their collaboration and adapt to the evolving needs of Kenyan athletes.

Nike has been an integral part of Team Kenya’s sporting narrative, proudly serving as the official kitting partner since 1993.

This enduring collaboration has significantly elevated Kenya’s reputation and standing in the global sports arena.

Beyond simply outfitting the national team, the partnership has actively cultivated talent, championed youth development programs, and fostered iconic individual collaborations, such as Eliud Kipchoge’s historic sub-two-hour marathon and Faith Kipyegon’s remarkable, record-breaking achievements through the Breaking4 initiative.

Following the productive meeting, NOCK President Shadrack Maluki expressed his gratitude:

“We’ve had a truly successful journey with NIKE – one that has seen Kenyan athletes proudly shine on the world stage in our national colours. We are deeply grateful for their ongoing support, which has played a crucial role in raising the profile of both our athletes and our country”.

Mr. Lotwis’s presence in Kenya also included observing the recent NOC-K elections and the Tokyo World Championship trials.
