Nominated Nyandarua County MCA Beth Wahito tragically passed away following a grisly road accident that occurred along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway on Saturday night, June 21, 2025.
According to reports, Wahito was on her way home after attending a budget committee meeting in Naivasha.
The accident happened at around 11:00 pm as she attempted to drive across the road at an intersection. She died on the spot after her car was hit by a Guardian Angel bus.
Nyandarua County Assembly Speaker Stephen Wachira Waiganjo, confirmed the unfortunate incident and expressed deep sorrow over the loss. He later released an official statement mourning the MCA’s death and celebrating her leadership.
“She led with courage, strength, and determination. She was not afraid to speak up for what she believed was right and worked tirelessly to uplift the lives of the underserved in her community,” the statement read in part.
Beth Wahito was a seasoned and respected political figure in Nyandarua County, with a political career spanning over 30 years.
She previously held leadership roles in the Democratic Party and served as the Nyandarua chairperson for NARC-Kenya. Most recently, she was serving as the Kinangop coordinator for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Her sudden death has left a significant void in the county’s political scene, with many remembering her as a passionate advocate for justice and community development.
The wreckage of the vehicle involved in the accident has been towed to Naivasha Police Station for further investigation.
