Protests erupted in Booster Uhuru village in Tumaini ward, Nyandarua County, as residents voiced their fury over a poorly repaired two-kilometer road that serves as a vital link for transporting farm produce.
Located in the agriculturally rich Olkalou constituency, the village thrives on dairy farming and the cultivation of various horticultural crops. However, locals now say their livelihoods are under threat due to the substandard work carried out by a county contractor.

The uproar centers around the use of machine-cut stones in place of the durable hard stones expected for such infrastructure. Villagers see this as a blatant misuse of public funds and a reckless disregard for quality and safety.

The deteriorating road conditions have driven up the cost of production, as farmers are forced to contend with delays and damages while trying to get their goods to market.
With incomes dwindling and frustration mounting, residents are now demanding immediate action from the Nyandarua County government to ensure the road is repaired properly and the contractor held accountable
