Media personality Oga Obinna has criticised what he described as a pattern of delayed support for people facing difficulties, following the hospitalisation of fellow entertainer Sammy Kioko.
Obinna raised the concern shortly after Kalonzo Musyoka visited Kioko in hospital and urged the public to remain calm while calling for fair handling of the matter.
The comedian shared his thoughts through his Instagram stories on Thursday, April 3, questioning why support often comes only after situations worsen.
“Oooh wow, like I always say, watu husubiri ukufe ndio wasimame kwa matanga,” Obinna wrote.

He suggested that earlier intervention could have helped prevent the situation from escalating, adding that leaders and supporters should step in before individuals suffer serious consequences.
“He coulda called Governor kitambo before Sammie broke his leg. Anyway, good PR,” he added.
Obinna emphasised that meaningful support should not only appear during moments of crisis. According to him, people should make an effort to check on others earlier instead of reacting once damage has already been done.
He explained that timely intervention can help prevent conflicts and misunderstandings from escalating into larger problems.

The comments come in the wake of public anger over an incident that occurred on March 31 in Machakos Town.
The situation reportedly stemmed from frustrations over unpaid supplies, raising wider concerns about how Machakos County Government manages pending bills and supplier complaints.
Kioko has claimed that the county government owes him KSh19 million for supplying inspectorate uniforms, commonly referred to as “Kanjo uniforms.”
The entertainer alleges that the debt accumulated over time as he delivered the uniforms to the county.
Obinna concluded by urging people to show consistent care for others rather than waiting until problems spiral into public crises.
