Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders have reaffirmed their commitment to party unity, dismissing speculation of a possible split.
Speaking during a Christmas Day church service, Party Leader Dr. Oburu Odinga pledged to strengthen ODM’s political base and maintain cohesion among its members.
He emphasized that the party’s future lies in solidarity and discipline, urging leaders to put aside their differences.
Deputy Party Leader and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi echoed the call, reminding members to respect party structures.
He stressed that official communication should come only from the Party Secretary or Deputy Secretary, underscoring the importance of adhering to established rules.
The remarks come against the backdrop of internal disagreements over ODM’s stance on supporting President William Ruto’s broad-based government.
Despite the divisions, senior figures including Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi and Kisumu Member of Parliament Ruth Odinga joined in the pledge to safeguard the party’s unity.
ODM leaders insisted that the party remains strong and focused on its mission, promising to resolve disputes internally while continuing to play a central role in Kenya’s political landscape.
