Oga Obinna shines with “My Mistakes” comedy special

Comedian and media personality Oga Obinna cemented his status as a powerhouse in the comedy and entertainment scene on Saturday June 7, 2025 with a sold out performance of his latest stand-up special, “My Mistakes.”

Held at the RedRoom in Adlife Plaza. The show marked a defining moment in Obinna’s transition from mainstream radio to independent content stardom.

With his signature blend of wit, candor, and cultural commentary, Obinna delivered a performance that was both introspective and hilarious. “My Mistakes” wove together real-life confessions, career blunders, and the human side of fame, creating a deeply relatable experience for a packed audience.

The show enjoyed support from fans who filled the venue way before the official starting time, 7:00pm. Fellow content creators and entertainers alike thronged the venue in support of one of their own.

Comedy sensations, MC Tricky, Tumbili, Mic Cheque’s podcast cohost Chaxy; were among the many creators who graced the event.

This landmark event reflects Obinna’s bold reinvention following his departure from the high-profile Kiss FM breakfast show.

Choosing to walk away from a nationally acclaimed platform, Obinna took a risk many would not. He doubled down on his identity as a content creator.

Launching his own YouTube channel, producing viral skits, and building a loyal digital audience, he carved a new path on his own terms. “My Mistakes” marks his biggest live outing since transitioning to independent comedy.

The live show not only served as a comedy special but as a declaration of creative independence. Each joke pulled from real experiences, from the chaos of parenting to awkward encounters in showbiz, reminding audiences of Obinna’s strength: turning life’s messes into moments of laughter and insight.

Far from just “going online,” Obinna redefined what it means to be a multimedia entertainer in Kenya. His brand now spans social commentary, storytelling, influencer collaborations, and now, a successful return to the live comedy stage.  His fan base has undoubtedly multiplied.

Audience feedback was overwhelming. Many took to social media praising Obinna’s raw honesty and effortless stage presence.

“What a night, more like this please,” a fan commented. As the crowd rose to a standing ovation, it was clear: Obinna’s leap into digital storytelling wasn’t a fallback. It was a flight. “If I made mistakes, at least I made them loudly,” he quipped after the finale.

Event organizers have hinted at expanding the shows reach, with potential tour dates across East Africa already in discussion. ‘’ The engagement tonight exceeded expectations. . Nairobi has spoken loud and clear,” an insider noted.
