Popular media personality Oga Obinna has officially announced the “Suspension of Personal Acts of Kindness.” The drastic move, communicated through a statement by Obinna TV Studios, follows a period of intense public scrutiny and alleged online harassment.
The presenter stated that his decision was triggered by “persistent defamation by online bloggers and social media users who have weaponized acts of kindness for views, likes, and engagement.”
Obinna argues that genuine efforts to help those in need were twisted and used against him by critics, malicious bloggers, and social media users.
The core issues raised by the statement include fabricating stories and malicious trolling based on his charity work. profound ingratitude that “seeks to destroy rather than appreciate,” and being subjected to blackmail, manipulation, and public pressure to give.
The statement emphatically stressed the limits of his capacity for help.
“Oga Obinna is NOT: God, capable of helping everyone… Subject to blackmail, manipulation, or public pressure to give.”
Effective immediately, the suspension focuses on direct, one-on-one assistance to individuals.
“Obinna TV Studios CSR programs will proceed as scheduled, Obinna TV Foundation remains ‘the ONLY channel for structured charitable work,’ and business interactions and professional engagements – these remain unaffected.
“The Foundation will now be the sole vehicle for any future structured charity work.”
The statement included a clarification regarding Obinna’s personal life and a stern legal notice to his detractors.
“Individuals, bloggers, and content creators publishing unwarranted, unverified, or defamatory remarks will face legal action.”
“We have tolerated baseless accusations long enough. Documentation is underway, and accountability will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law.”
The statement also made a distinction between the “Oga Obinna brand” and his private life, noting that “Steve (the individual) retains personal autonomy in his private decisions.”
The announcement concluded with a biblical quote from the book of Mark: “If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell.”
