Police officers in Gem, Siaya County, on Friday, August 23 conducted an intelligence-led operation following a tip-off from members of the public.

During the operation, officers — based at Yala Police Station — recovered a variety of suspected stolen items, including electronic gadgets, household goods, and assorted tools.

In addition, several rolls of cannabis and other related narcotic substances were seized at the scene.

One male suspect was arrested, while his accomplices managed to escape. The recovered items have been kept as exhibits, and the suspect remains in custody pending further investigation and arraignment in court.

The National Police Service commends the public for their vigilance and timely sharing of information, which continues to play a crucial role in crime prevention.

“We urge citizens to remain proactive and work closely with law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime and drug abuse,” NPS stated.

The NPS remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all Kenyans through intelligence-led operations and community collaboration.
