Ulinzi Stars striker Paul Okoth has been named the SportPesa League Player of the Month for November 2025, following a series of standout performances that highlighted his growing influence in the top flight.
Okoth, who joined the Soldiers from National Super League leaders Migori Youth during the off-season transfer window, has adapted swiftly to life in the SportPesa League.
His intelligent movement, hunger for goals and composure in front of goal have made him a key figure in Ulinzi Stars’ attack, giving the team an added cutting edge in crucial moments.
November proved to be a particularly productive month for the striker, as he contributed directly to four goals for Ulinzi Stars.

He opened his account with a decisive long-range strike in the hard-fought 1-0 victory over APS Bomet, a match in which his ability to capitalize on limited chances made the difference.
Okoth followed this with his most eye-catching display in the 3-1 win against Sofapaka, where he scored twice and also provided an assist.
The performance underlined his all-round attacking contribution and his ability to influence matches both as a scorer and creator.
Beyond goals and assists, Okoth’s work rate and attacking intent were evident throughout the month.
Averaging 13 shot attempts per match, he consistently tested opposition goalkeepers, unsettled defenders and created space for his teammates.
His consistency and influence earned him a well-deserved place in the SportPesa League Team of the Week.

Competition for the November award was intense, with Okoth edging out strong contenders including Shabana FC goalkeeper Stephen Ochieng’, Murang’a SEAL defender Paul Ngugi and APS Bomet forward Hansel Ochieng’.
While all nominees enjoyed impressive months, Okoth’s direct impact in decisive matches ultimately set him apart.
Speaking on the initiative, SportPesa Public Relations and Advertising Manager Willis Ojwang said the Player and Coach of the Month awards are aimed at raising standards across the league.
“The Player and Coach of the Month awards are designed to increase productivity and competitiveness in the SportPesa League. This is only our second award, and as we grow, we hope to make it even better. It is a key way of enhancing motivation among teams, coaches and players,” said Ojwang.
As part of his reward, Okoth received a customized trophy from league sponsors SportPesa alongside a cash prize of KES 50,000.

Despite Ulinzi Stars’ narrow 2-1 defeat to KCB in their most recent outing, Okoth was once again on the scoresheet, extending his fine run of form.
As the league sponsor, SportPesa remains committed to growing the SportPesa League and positioning it as one of the top football leagues in Africa through sustained investment and initiatives that continuously raise the standard of competition.
