Five bodies out of the 27 victims of the Nairobi floods have been transported to West Pokot, Eldoret, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, and Mtito Andei by the Sonko Rescue Team.
This follows a pledge by National Economic Development Party leader Mike Sonko to clear pending morgue bills, provide coffins, and facilitate transport for all victims of the floods in Nairobi.
Sonko said the remaining 22 bodies will be transported once families finalize burial arrangements in their respective rural homes.
He also urged leaders to set aside their political differences and avoid politicizing the flood tragedy, instead calling for unity in addressing the flooding crisis and supporting affected families.
