Police in Bungoma have ramped up their campaign against illegal narcotics trade in the area, working to enhance community security and combat drug abuse.
Acting on tips provided by community members, personnel from Bungoma Police Station, led by the Sub-County Police Commander, executed a rapid and well-coordinated operation at a premises in the locality.
The raid resulted in the apprehension of two individuals suspected of dealing in illicit substances.
Authorities confiscated roughly 30 rolls of marijuana, an unwrapped package of bhang weighing approximately 12 kilograms, and 39,000 contraband cigarettes.
The confiscated materials are undergoing processing ahead of presentation before the court, while the detained individuals await arraignment.
Meanwhile, police have launched investigations into the origin of the illegal goods, as they work towards dismantling the wider distribution chain connected to the arrested suspects.
