Police intensify crackdown on narcotics with seizures in Nairobi and Laikipia

Police officers have made significant drug seizures in two separate operations in Nairobi and Laikipia counties as law enforcement agencies continue their campaign against narcotics.

Officers from Embakasi Police Station carried out an operation in the Tasia Mabatini area on Wednesday, recovering a substantial quantity of drugs from a residence belonging to an identified suspect.

The raid yielded 20 kilograms of cannabis sativa and 500 rolls of the same substance, valued at approximately Ksh.500,000 on the street.

The suspect remains at large, but police have launched efforts to track and arrest him. The seized drugs have been secured at the station as evidence.

In a separate operation, police in Laikipia West Sub-County have also stepped up their campaign against illicit alcohol and drug trafficking.

Officers from Rumuruti Police Station conducted a targeted operation in the African Location area, resulting in the seizure of approximately two kilograms of cannabis sativa.

A female suspect was apprehended during the raid and is being held at the station awaiting court arraignment. The recovered substances have been preserved as evidence for ongoing investigations.

The National Police Service has commended officers involved in both operations for their vigilance and reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating illegal drugs and harmful substances that threaten public safety and community well-being.
