Police officers from Ekalakala Police Station on friday 24th January recovered a large quantity of suspected narcotics, while conducting routine patrols in Ekalakala Market, Machakos County.
The incident occurred when officers noticed a person behaving suspiciously while carrying a large bag through the market area.
The suspect immediately abandoned the bag and escaped upon realizing they had attracted police attention, evading arrest.
Police examined the abandoned bag and discovered a significant quantity of narcotic substances, comprising 49 brooms, seven kilograms of suspected bang and 25 packets of rolling papers commonly associated with drug use.
Authorities have now launched an investigation aimed at tracking down the suspect who fled the scene and working to identify and arrest anyone else who may be connected to the drug operation.
