Police in Athi River, Machakos County have begun investigations into the death of a 38-year-old woman found lifeless at her home.
A death report was filed at Athi River Police Station on Thursday, May 9 by Benjamin Masila, one of the residents at Hill View Estate.
Police officers, accompanied by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) personnel visited House number 27 where the lifeless body of Sheila Odoyo, alias Sheilah Wegesha, was found in her bedroom.
Preliminary assessment of the scene revealed there was blood on the mattress and visible deep cut on her throat.
The woman was reportedly found dead by her 18-year-old daughter named Lindi Akinyi.
“She learnt of the death of her mother at around 1300 hours while she had gone to serve her lunch,” read part of the police report.
Her father, Jackson Bambo aged 45 years, reportedly left the house at 1am that day aboard his Mitsubishi Outlander under registration KDM 798M without saying a word.
The body was moved to Shalom Community Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem. DCI detectives processed the scene and took in various items for forensic analysis.
A manhunt is on for the woman’s husband who is reportedly missing.
