The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) secretary general, who is also Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has claimed that President William Ruto is a slave of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other global powers from the west.

In a statement on May 9, 2024, Sifuna accused president Ruto, of being under the influence of the IMF and other global powers from the west.

In addition, Sifuna claimed that President Ruto himself has admitted to this alleged connection.

“William Ruto now is entirely a slave of the IMF and the global powers from the West he himself, admits it”, he stated.

He also stated that problems Kenyans are facing, for example; political landscape, ideal and values, interactions with external influence, lack support.

During a public address, he expressed his concerns about Ruto’s supposed ties, suggesting that they could impact the decision-making process and the nation’s sovereignty.

His remarks sparked a debate on social media and in the political circles, with different opinions emerging regarding the implications of these alleged connections.

Critics argue that Ruto’s reported alignment with global powers could potentially compromise Kenya’s autonomy and hinder its ability to make independent decisions.

On the other hand, Ruto’s supporters maintain that international collaborations are essential for economic growth.

The topic of Ruto’s alleged ties to the IMF and global powers has become a focal point in political discussions, raising questions about the nation’s economic policies and its position on the global stage.
