More recently, Beryl served as the Chairperson of the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company from 2020. President Ruto acknowledged her leadership in driving reforms that strengthened the utility and improved service delivery for city residents.

He described her as a pioneering woman who opened doors for many others in the field of public service and urban development.

“We mourn the loss of a great intellectual,” the president wrote. “On my own behalf and that of all Kenyans, I convey heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga. May God’s grace and comfort be with you during this difficult time.”
