President William Ruto has announced that the national government will allocate Ksh1 billion towards the completion of the Kakamega Level 6 Hospital by November next year.
Speaking on Sunday November 2, 2025 during his development tour of Kakamega County, President Ruto said the project will not only strengthen healthcare delivery in the region but also create employment opportunities for more than 1,000 young people.
At the same time, the Head of State praised Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa for his commitment to completing the hospital, noting that he has built on the foundation laid by former governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
The President said that in some other counties, incoming leaders have abandoned projects initiated by their predecessors.
Governor Barasa, on his part, urged the Mulembe Nation to support President Ruto, saying that he has demonstrated goodwill by prioritizing key development projects in Western Kenya.
