Protests in Nyandarua after 17-year-old-boy was tortured and killed  for allegedly stealing 2 pairs of trousers

In the quiet community of Ramana village, tragedy has struck, leaving residents in shock and mourning following the tragic death of 17-year-old Samson Kahuria, a young boy who reportedly died after being tortured following allegations of theft.

Samson Kahuria’s death is reported to have occurred under harrowing circumstances.

According to witnesses, he was brutally tortured after being accused of stealing two pairs of trousers.

Family members recount a horrific scene where he was made to undress and walk through a stinging nettle thicket adjacent to Gwa Kiongo dam.

Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after being rushed to JM Kariuki Hospital in Olkalou.

In a phone interview, Mirangine Sub County Police Commander Peter Walah confirmed the arrest of two suspects in connection with this case.

The arrests come in the wake of public outcry and frustration, as residents took to the streets in peaceful demonstrations, calling for justice and accountability.

The demonstration was sparked by concerns over the police’s handling of the investigation, specifically regarding two additional suspects believed to have been involved in the brutal treatment of the deceased.

Mirangine OCS Samuel Mukuna addressed the protesters, assuring them that the police are actively pursuing leads and that anyone with information should step forward to aid the investigation.

This incident has raised alarming questions about safety and security in the region. A local gang, known as B13, has been implicated in ongoing violence and intimidation in the area, with allegations that some political figures have employed this gang for security during events.

The community is reeling, and tensions are palpable as funeral preparations for Samson continue.

Meanwhile, family members have announced their intention to delay the burial until more suspects are apprehended and brought to justice.
