Principal Secretary Stephen Isaboke has reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to deepening economic and digital cooperation with Kazakhstan during the Kazakhstan–Kenya Business Forum, where he delivered a keynote address on behalf of Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo Gitau.
The forum, hosted by Barlybay Sadykov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Kenya, convened senior government officials and private sector leaders from both countries to explore new avenues for trade and investment.
Kenya and Kazakhstan continue to enjoy cordial bilateral relations underpinned by structured diplomatic engagement. In March 2024, the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations, followed by inaugural consultations held in Astana in September 2024—milestones that have strengthened institutional cooperation and policy dialogue.
In his address, PS Isaboke outlined Kenya’s ambitious digital transformation agenda, highlighting flagship projects such as Konza Technopolis, which he said are positioning the country as a premier destination for global technology investment.
He pointed to strong prospects for enhanced collaboration in e-government systems, fintech innovation, cybersecurity and startup incubation, leveraging Kazakhstan’s progress in digital development.
The Principal Secretary also emphasized Kenya’s demographic dividend, noting the country’s young, skilled and English-speaking workforce across sectors including engineering, ICT, healthcare, education and hospitality.
He underscored Kenya’s openness to structured and legally anchored labour mobility frameworks designed to protect workers’ rights while facilitating orderly and mutually beneficial migration.
Reaffirming Kenya’s commitment to results-driven economic diplomacy, PS Isaboke said the country is ready to work closely with Kazakhstan to deepen trade ties, unlock investment opportunities and build resilient value chains linking Central Asia and East Africa.
Among those present at the forum were Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mr. Temesi Mukani; Evans Maturu from the State Department for Foreign Affairs; Ken Onditi, National Director of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Pius Rotich of KenInvest.
