MSME Development Principal Secretary Susan Mang’eni on Wednesday, October 8 evening held a meeting with UDA Party Secretary-General Hassan Omar, to brief him on the progress of the NYOTA Project and the ongoing nationwide sensitisation campaign that was directed by the President William Ruto.
“This meeting with the UDA Party leadership reaffirms our shared commitment to the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), which places youth economic empowerment at the heart of Kenya’s development journey,” PS Mang’eni said.
The NYOTA Project aims to create jobs, build skills and support young entrepreneurs. It is designed to support 100,000 youth across the country, with up to 70 beneficiaries from each of the 1,450 wards countrywide set to receive KSh50,000 grants.
In total, the project targets a total of 820,000 youths.
“The State Department for MSME Development is on course to implement the UDA Manifesto by supporting young entrepreneurs, growing local enterprises, and building an inclusive economy where every Kenyan is included in our social and economic development journey,” PS Mang’eni added.
