The Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) is finalizing preparations for the Mombasa International A.S.K Show 2025 scheduled to take place from 3rd -7th September, 2025.
PSC will take part in the upcoming Mombasa International A.S.K Show as part of its mandate to fulfill the institutionโs Pillar III of the 2019-2030 Strategic Plan on enhancing Public Trust.
An open, transparent, accountable and people-centered parliament is the mantra of the Parliamentary Service Commission as captured in its strategic plan 2019-2030.
The Commission invests heavily in youth engagement through the school outreach programmes and in laying the foundation for better future leaders.
PSC also pushes the youthful population towards patriotism, open engagement, peace, harmony, and national cohesion.

The mock chamber at this yearโs exhibition is geared towards granting members of the public and by extension visiting pupils and students, an opportunity to experience being a Speaker, a Member of Parliament, a Clerk of Parliament, and a Sergeant-At-Arms, among other roles as they emulate the sitting of the House.
The Commission Committee on Information and Public Communication, chaired by Nyeri Senator, Wahome Wamatinga, undertook an inspection visit to the Showground to assess PSCโs level of preparedness to take part in the Show.
โHere we are, Parliament is coming to Mombasa, we will educate and give the public factual information to demystify the perception of Parliament, hence achieving Pillar III of the PSC Strategic Plan of 2019-2030; Public Trust.”
Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama noted that the exhibition will explore the symbolic objects that define parliamentary tradition and power.
“We are tracing the journey of parliamentary governance through the objects that embody its rich history and symbolism.”
Parliament has promoted various legislations and held several conversations and debates touching on this yearโs Show theme โ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐-๐๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ญ ๐๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ๐ญ๐กโ.
A visit to the PSC Stand will shed more light on these deliberations.
Apart from the Mock Chamber, which depicts the official procedures of the two Houses of Parliament, there will be highlights on the Budget-Making process.
The team hopes to demystify the role of Parliament in the Budget Making Process through an organized media round-table transmitted live from the PSC Stand.
Commissioner Mishi Mboko (MP Likoni) emphasized on having various legislations displayed for public interaction.
โBudget-making is a key function for the country, impacting socio-economic, political, technological, and environmental spheres of the citizenry and, by extension, the country at large,” said Mishi.
Nyali MP Mohammed Ali who is a former journalist, said he is pleased to know that the media and information dissemination element is highly factored at the Stand.
“The Media Round-Table will be exiting and I will welcome the public to join our Stand and also watch us live from the comfort of their homes. โsaid Commissioner Ali.
The Commission Committee underscored its critical role and noted that as decreed by the Kenya Constitution 2010, it is paramount to involve the public in every step of the budget cycle.
This involvement in decision-making can only be achieved if the public are well educated about decisions on priorities, funding, and spending.
