In a truly remarkable act of kindness, Kit Chilvers, the co-founder and CEO of the massive social media group Pubity, flew from London to Nairobi, Kenya, to personally deliver a life-changing gift to one of his loyal followers.
The journey was sparked by a single message from a passionate young Kenyan photographer.
The story began when a young Kenyan man named Veron, who runs the photography account @24.time.travel, reached out to Kit Chilvers.
Veron had been a dedicated fan of photography for years, pouring his passion into the art, but lacked the professional gear he needed to take his work to the next level. He simply couldn’t afford his dream camera.
Kit Chilvers, whose company Pubity Group boasts over 160 million followers globally, decided to respond not with a reply, but with a plane ticket.
Kit Chilvers undertook the 12-hour journey from London to Nairobi with a surprise gift in tow. The goal was to hand-deliver the camera to Veron in person.

The gift was a Canon EOS R7, a high-performance mirrorless camera valued at approximately Ksh 200,000.
“Veron has been passionate about photography for years, but was never able to afford his dream camera. So he messaged me asking for one… I then made the 12-hour journey to Nairobi, Kenya where I hand-delivered it to him in person.” – Kit Chilvers
This gesture went far beyond a simple product donation, it was a personal investment in a young artist’s dream.
The story didn’t end with the surprise delivery. Immediately after receiving the camera, Kit and Veron headed out on a Kenyan Safari to test the new Canon EOS R7 in its element.

The trip allowed Veron to capture breathtaking wildlife and landscape images, instantly putting his dream camera to its intended use.
The photos taken were described as “absolutely brilliant”, confirming Veron’s talent and the quality of the new equipment, and the trip serves as the launchpad for Veron’s professional photography career, now armed with the tools he needed.
This genuine connection between a global social media powerhouse and a dedicated local creator highlights a positive side of digital influence.
