Rapper Offset facing financial crisis as unpaid Tax debt hits Ksh 297,045,000

Rapper Offset is reportedly facing major financial problems as his unpaid tax balance has climbed past $2.3 million (Ksh 297,045,000). This staggering figure comes from recent federal and state filings obtained by Us Weekly.

The mounting tax debt adds another layer of pressure to the rapper, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, as he navigates a high-profile divorce from estranged wife, Cardi B.

Federal and state records show that the 32-year-old artist has been hit with multiple liens from both the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Georgia Department of Revenue over the last few years. The latest six-figure lien has pushed his total outstanding balance to a reported $2,353,692 (Ksh 303,979,321).

Here is a breakdown of the recent liens filed against the rapper:

The latest federal lien that was filed on October 15, claims Offset owes $486,000(Ksh 62,766,900) for his 2023 income taxes.

A Previous IRS Lien of the taxes shows $1.5 million (Ksh 193,725,000) owed for 2022.

An additional filing from the Georgia Department of Revenue adds roughly $292,000(Ksh 37,711,800) for unpaid state income taxes from 2021.

The total figure, which includes interest, penalties, and fees, confirms a debt of $2,353,692(Ksh 303,979,321). Other separate filings list further unpaid amounts totalling $1,866,978 (Ksh 241,120,302), covering previous years of federal and state income taxes.

The financial revelations come at a difficult time for the rapper and Cardi B, who are currently in the midst of a divorce. The couple, who married in 2017, share three children: Kulture, Wave, and Blossom.

The escalating tax debt is now a factor in their separation. Reports indicate that Offset is demanding that the Bodak Yellow rapper pay these fees on his behalf as part of the divorce settlement.

“The total of the three liens comes to $2,353,692(Ksh 303,979,321). Offset is demanding that the Bodak Yellow rapper pay these fees on his behalf in her divorce settlement.”

This demand follows previous public spending, including the $2 million(Ksh 258,300,000) gift Cardi B gave Offset for his birthday in 2021.

Tax experts warn that if liens of this size are not addressed, they can lead to serious legal consequences. These measures can include the seizure of assets and the freezing of bank accounts.

So far, neither Offset nor his representatives have made a public comment on the tax liens. Cardi B is not named in any of the filings.

For Offset, the multi-million-dollar debt adds significant financial pressure as he deals with complex personal challenges under intense public scrutiny.
