MM Shah Primary and Junior Secondary School has once again taken center stage in the 2026 Nyanza Regional Drama and Music Festivals, reinforcing its stature in creative arts and academics.
The school clinched top honors, with 11-year-old Fahari Israel (Grade 5F) named Best Actor, while Daciah Angela (Grade 6F), also 11, emerged Best Actress, highlighting its strength in nurturing talent.
The achievement comes as schools transition to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), which emphasizes skills alongside academics. For MM Shah, the success reflects a system already aligned with these principles.

The school has maintained strong academic performance over the years, blending classroom excellence with co-curricular growth. This approach equips learners with key competencies such as communication, creativity and critical thinking.
Observers note that MM Shah’s balanced model places it ahead under CBC, where talent development is central. Its mentorship programs, committed staff and continuous assessment have strengthened this transition.

Speaking after the win, the Head of Institution said,
“This achievement reflects our commitment to nurturing all-round learners. CBC gives us the platform to strengthen what we already do. We develop talent, skills and academic excellence.”
As the school heads to the National Festivals in Nyeri from April 16th to 18th, 2026, it carries both regional pride and the promise of leading in effective CBC implementation.
