Tanzanian gospel musician Rose Muhando has dismissed claims by Kenyan preacher Robert Lumbasi that the two are married.
This comes after Pastor Lumbasi, a gospel minister, stood before his congregation and announced that he had married the celebrated gospel artist in a private family ceremony.
“The process began some time ago, the dowry has been paid, and everything is now settled. Rose is already taken. And I love and respect this woman,” he declared.
His jubilant congregants erupted in celebration, chanting “Harusi tunayo hatuna!”
But the gospel singer herself tells a completely different story saying that she is single and is currently not searching for a life partner.
“I’ve never been married, man. In short, society should understand that I’ve never been married, I don’t even know if they’re getting married,” Muhando, a mother of three, stated in a live interview on Thursday, January 15.
When asked about the viral video showing Preacher Lumbasi’s church announcement, Muhando diverted the question back to its source.
“Muulizeni aliyeongea. Mimi sijawahi kuolewa,” she responded.
She went on to clarify her position firmly: “Hivi, kuolewa, si lazima nije kanisani, nifunge ndoa.”
Muhando also addressed questions about her current relationship status.
“I’m single and I’m not searching for a life partner; I don’t have that plan. If he comes, he will come, he will be brought by God,” she said.
