President William Ruto has criticised opposition leaders, saying most of his critics lack a clear development agenda for Kenya.
Speaking during a church service in Lugari, Kakamega County on Sunday June 15, 2025, President Ruto urged all leaders to focus on uniting the country and addressing key national issues.
At the same time, the President dismissed the “Ruto must go” slogan, terming it an empty rhetoric that offers no solutions to the country’s pressing issues.
“Hawa watu wengine hawana mpango. We cannot hand over to people hawana mpango. Ati mpango yao ni Ruto must go, must go itakusaidia na nini?” Ruto said.
He advised the opposition to focus on how to ensure youths get jobs, improve the agriculture sector, education and to improve the economy.
“Hata mkiona wakiongea wako na kisirani mingi sana, sijui ni kama nani aliwakosea. Na kama wako na kisirani na mimi, wawachane na Wakenya,” Ruto added.
He emphasized that his Government is focused on key priorities such as youth employment, agricultural productivity, affordable education, and access to healthcare.
Ruto’s remarks emerged amid heightened political tensions in the country and renewed calls by some opposition leaders to make Ruto a one-term president.
